Somerset County League Premier Division  - Castle Cary 0  Bridgwater Town  Reserves 3

Cary's line up: Stewart,Taylor,Smith,Pike ,Mitchell,Warren,Price,Case,A Francis, Hayhoe and  Njie with Robinson and Scriven on the bench.

In the first half we started brightly and created two or three good chances and had most of the possession for the first 25 minutes. Bridgwater were content to hoof long balls up the pitch initially  which we dealt with comfortably.  All was looking good with some neat football being played, although we were lacking in our finishing as we missed what were 2 simple chances. Such was our domination that Stewie was  called into action for the first time in the 26th minute when he had to tip a long range effort over the bar.

Then it went wonky - Bridgwater's No 11 - the smallest man on the pitch - who seemed have his feet held on  with electrical tape -  scored from 20 yards to make it 1-0.
Not really a drama as we still looked good and seemed to have goals in us today. Unfortunately it was not to be , we made an awful error in defence after  a blunder with a backpass they got another  to make it 2-0.

Still we did not give up and to the teams credit created 2 good chances just before half time. Should  have got one back at least .

Half Time 0-2 but still confident if we could score quickly in thesecond half we could get back into the game.

Unfortunately it was Bridgwater who scored 3 minutes into the second half - Electric tape boots boy ( to be fair he is a good player who  scored 2 and was a real problem for us) picked up the ball on the half way line and ran at the defence who backed off and backed off - he let fly and that was  that. That knocked the stuffing out of us and we never got back into the game.

Consistency, concentration and a  bit of luck were needed today - didn't happen for us.

Final score 0-3
