Somerset County League Premier Division - Castle Cary 2 Mangotsfield Utd Reserves 0
A deserved win to get back to winning ways . Star performances form the midfield with Paul Case working hard and Tommy Warren having his best game of the season .
Cary's line up: Stewart,Taylor,Robinson,Smith,Pike ,Scriven,Mitchell,Warren,Price,Case,A Francis with Njie, Hann and Chainey on the bench.
In the first half we started poorly and for the first twenty minutes let Mangotsfield boss the game . However with a bit of reorganisation and some encouragement from Les we started to get the upperhand and at times played some really good football. Stewie was only called into action twice and we had plenty of possession.
We started brightly again in the second half and this time did not let the opposition settle and with our midfield playing superbly with Case and Warren covering the ground. We were getting the ball wide and we created several good openings but could not finish. The deadlock was broken by star man Tommy Warren who won the ball with a terrific tackle just outside the Mangotsfield box. He then waltzed round another defender before powering a shot into the netwith his left foot . 1-0 to Cary and the relief was evident!
Could we now go on to win and not let them into the game for the last twenty minutes? They did come back at us but with Ashley back from his yodelling holding the ball up and causing all sorts of dramas in their defence and Steve now on and causing problems with his pace it was always looking likely that Cary would score again.
In the 86th minute Ashley was pulled back by a west country boy who then gets booked for his terrible Gloucestershire accent. Mitch is encouraged to have a shot from the free kick by Les and he lets fly a yorker which Paul Case neatly deflects into the goal to make it 2-0.
Final score 2-0 - A game where we were much better , worked hard for each other and scored two very good goals. Full marks for a good result and an all round excellent performance.

Mitch and the dance of the dying duck!
